Letter of Complaint
As you may know, I've been humorously plagued with a horn that honks in right turns since I took my car to Meineke back in late June. Well, after nearly 5 months it's not so funny any more. I'm writing a letter to them, since I've a hard time being mean in person. If you feel like taking a look and telling me how I can improve it, please do so! :)
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing today to formally complain about the service or lack thereof that I have received on my car. Since moving to W*** in September 2004, I have used your Meineke Center #*** for things such as inspections, oil changes, and other maintenance, as can be seen in the attached list of visits to your shop. However your shop has failed to resolve a problem in my car since June 15, 2005 and at a personal cost to me of $487.34 and more than 3 hours cumulative of my time spent in the waiting room at your shop.
I originally brought the car to your shop for a loose turn signal stalk and broken high beam switch. When it was returned to me after more than a week, although the original problems had been resolved, your service caused two additional problems: the left turn signal fails to self-cancel, and the horn intermittently honks in right turns. I have made a total of seven trips to the shop since then, none resolving these issues, and was last told on August 18, 2005, that an additional part (clock spring) was on order and I would be informed when it arrived. It is now two and a half months later and I have received no indication that your shop will obtain the part, or that the problem will eventually be resolved.
If you are unable to both obtain the parts and complete the repair of my car, then you have failed to render the services for which I have been charged. If you are unable to render the services, I request a full refund of the amount I paid, namely $487.34. I require a response by the date of December 5, 2005, or I will be forced to take the legal action of bringing this issue to City of W** Small Claims Court. I would also file letters with the W** Better Business Bureau and the District Attorney.
I eagerly anticipate hearing from you by December 5, 2005 to resolve this issue.
Sincerely,
zandperl
