It's still two days out, I'm hoping the forecasters end up wrong.

They're canceling Christmas!

We're supposed to get an "ice event". Maybe 1/4" of ice on Thursday, then we're supposed to have some snow on Friday.

I know it sucks for people with schedules, and driving to and from work is going to be shitastic for me tomorrow and Friday, but I enjoy snow and having everything covered in the white stuff.

Eek. Well, be safe and warm, and I guess figure out the academic crap when you can. You'll get though it. And, hey, Hunt is Coming! (:

I know! We're so excited about that. :) T$'s been doing a great job of captaining this year, he's been taking all the initiative to make sure we get a room, and phone numbers submitted, and everything, it's such a relief b/c I don't like doing that stuff, and I also didn't like pressuring other people into doing it. We're requesting the same room as last year, we liked it a lot, and we've only got a few more people signed up for this year - last year we had 25 signed up and I think 20 actually showed up, and this year we have 30 signed up.

Maybe it is about time to make it an on-line exam?

[identity profile] zandperl.livejournal.com 2008-12-17 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately no: the distance ed people are already struggling with increasing the duration of the existing online courses. To make this online, the distance ed people would have to create a new course, add all the students, add me, and I'd have to add the exam which is really frickin' hard to do. Plus, can you imagine trying to type the steps of a physics problem on a keyboard?

The closest I could come is a take-home exam, if I emailed the Word document of the exam to them all, but I don't like that idea one bit.
