Contrary to popular belief, even tropical and desert birds have no problem with temperatures down to the high 50's F, so long as they are healthy and well-fed. Unfortunately, many pet birds in captivity are not on healthy diets and do not see a vet regularly, so these birds are more prone to illnesses and malnutrition.
