Impact

I just realized what an impact Steve Irwin made on me. While watching Snakes on a Plane - stop laughing! - at one point the not-gay-steward is holding a snake right behind its head. The man freaks out, and grabs it by the end of the tail instead, shoves it in a microwave, and hilarity ensues. When I watched that scene, I muttered aloud, "stupid, if you have it behind the head you've got the biting part controlled." I never would've thought of that if it weren't for Steve Irwin.

I still think that the "girlfriend" was his BFF-type "girrrrrlfriend"

didn't she snog him when she threw herself at him at the end? it's possible, though.

and yeah, he totally should have gotten bitten for being stupid enough to hold a snake by the tail...

It could have been a platonic snog? I think the writers were trying to go, "ha! you misjudged based on stereotypes, you stupid audience!" but he DID blatantly check out and hit on the kickboxer. For the sake of continuity, I have to believe they were just affectionate friends.

he might have just been trying to be friendly with the kickboxer...

Or he could be bi, or gay and in denial, or "ex-gay," or a billion other things, and all are worth laughing at. *grin*

couldn't be bi. he had the gay voice. i've never heard a gay voice from someone who wasn't gay, and every gay guy i've met has it. the bi ones don't. but yeah, closet case is quite likely...
