So Disney's not evil after all.

Of course they are. These Fairy Tale Wedding Events cost a few grand each. By opening them up to people without marriage licenses, they're going to make a killing. Then again, the road to good things is often paved with monetary intentions - recycling, fuel efficiency, hybrids, hotels not washing linens daily w/ the same guests, and so on.

Hotels do that now? I always did DND to keep them from doing it, not for the environment but because I like to cocoon in my sheets and having the bed made makes the cocooning process more a PITA.

It's been spreading for the past decade or so, and has been nearly universal for a few years now. They'll have a sign in the room saying "we do not routinely change sheets daily to save on water and the environment; if you want them changed please check this box and we will." And in the bathroom "to save water and the environment, if you leave towels on the floor we will re-rack them, while if you leave them in the tub we will replace them."

I actually had a friend say he'd rather have the towels replaced daily. This made no sense to me whatsoever, as he doesn't do that at home, and would never consider doing it at home.

i've never seen "leave them on the floor" as being the use-the-same-towels option...i mean, bathroom floors can be pretty nasty. usually it's hang them back up yourself if you want to keep them, leave them on the floor/in the tub/in a basket if you want new ones.

I may not remember the details, but you get the point.
