LIsts!

I need help fleshing out a couple lists w/ ideas from your noggins.

List 1 - Halloween Ideas
I need ideas for a Halloween party theme. Current ideas include
  1. The internet

  2. Y19C; The Turn of the Last Century; 1900-1950; or something similar (see the below list)

  3. Housekeeping

List 2 - Union/Labor/Solidarity/Old Timey songs
For some reason I really want a list of union/labor/solidarity themed or old timey songs. Should I go w/ the second theme above, they will go on the playlist, but it's unlikely it will happen. Yeah, I know I'm really vague about what I'm looking for in songs here, but skim over the list so far and you may start getting the feeling.
  1. Solidarity Forever

  2. Worker's Song - The Dropkick Murphys

  3. We Shall Overcome - Pete Seeger

  4. Which Side Are You On? - Pete Seeger

  5. If I Had a Hammer - Pete Seeger (and lots of other Seeger songs...)

  6. Low Bridge (Everybody Down) (aka Erie Canal)

  7. Sixteen Tons (aka I Owe My Soul to the Company Store) - Tennessee Ernie Ford

  8. there's one I can't remember the name of about how the guy singing can't get a job and doesn't have any money and there's one line about not being in a union. it's a rockin' tune, maybe form the 50's. your parents would like it.

  9. Roll The Union On

If you've got suggestions for either list, please comment.

ETA: Holy crap union songs!

We did a crude/obscene themed Halloween party one year and it was a hoot.
One guy had a flesh colored dildo hanging out of his pants wearing a shirt that said I rock out with my cock out, and one guy came as a bishop with children's shoes attached to the bottom of his wears. Hilarious.

Your themes sound great!

Some other (perhaps not so great) ideas:
- Puns
- Technology
- Don't Act Your Age

One "Old-Timey" song I love -- although it's not quite the kind of sing-a-long number like you've listed, is Brother Can You Spare a Dime. How about The Internationale?

I was thinking "Over There" as an old-timey song.

If you get really creative, you can write a 1900-1948 version of "We Didn't Start the Fire". That'd be pretty awesome. Actually, if I get really ambitious someday, I might do that. It's also possible that it's been done already. ::Searches:: Nope, can't find it! But, who knows?

Pretty much everything by Woody Guthrie would probably fit your theme.
