New iPod!

My Dad got me a new iPod - 160 GB Classic. Awesome. Now I want to know two things.

1) I use a Mac. I have a few .wmv videos that I watch in Quicktime using the free "flip4mac" or whatever it's called plug-in. How can I, for free, convert these into either .mp4 for uploading into the iPod, or into .mov so iTunes can convert them?

2) Anywhere to download a bunch of .mp4 music videos for my iPod?

flipformac has a product that supposedly converts wmv to quicktime

As far as I can tell the free version is only a plugin that allows Quicktime to read .wmv files. I do not have a separate flip4mac program on my computer, so there's no where to explore converting files, and I believe I would have to pay for one that could do that. If I am incorrect, please do tell me.

No, it looks like you're right. i didn't realize that there was a free plug-in and that that was all you had. Willing to shell out for conversion ability?

Not till I exhaust all other possibilities! ;) One of T$'s friends blogs for MacWorld or some other Mac magazine like that. I'll ask him.

Congrats!

I still don't have an ipod or portable music player of any form (even back in the day, I didn't have a walkman or discman...) Someday I'll join the 21st century...
