Bird drama

I think I'm going to not post new posts to [livejournal.com profile] parrot_lovers if I can help it, and instead post to [livejournal.com profile] parrots101 - or maybe cross post for a while before phasing out the PL posts so that I can possibly get others to switch over to 101 as well. I plan to continue commenting on PL though. But so if you don't see me there as much, that's why. Too many feathered llamas.

"feathered llamas"?

If I have to explain....

The phrase "drama llama" refers to situations where there's just way too much stupid drama crap on LJ (b/c LJ loves the Frank the Llama for some reason). Since it's "parrot lovers" the drama llama's gotta have feathers like a bird.

PL is a very good community for information. However there are a few vocal minorities who think it's okay to bludgeon newbies and that this will get them to fix their ways, or that it's okay to speak in absolutes of What is Right For All Birds in All Situations, or that saying someone's ideas are stupid is not at all criticizing the individual who originates those ideas. And of course when more rational members try to correct or clarify or calm these people, we get chewed out, sometimes by those members, sometimes by others, and sometimes even by the mods.

Like I said, drama llama.

Only feathered.

aha! Saying "drama llamas" would have made it clear; I just thought you were referring to some non-parrot llama-esque bird.

Well, toucans always struck me as somewhat llama-like.

Huh, I guess your'e right. Okay then, why does every like llama so much? Just b/c of the rhyme? Sad.
