Multipage .pdf file creation

I have 24 .png files that I want to wrap into a single 24-page .pdf file without losing image resolution (as I would if I pasted the .png files into 24 pages of a Word document and then .pdf printed on my Mac). Any way I can do this for free and legally? I currently have access to both PC, Mac, and linux on a very slow computer; I have a slight preference for Mac.

In OpenOffice you can export a PDF as "press quality" which should be pretty much full resolution.

You can use zamzar ( http://www.zamzar.com/ ) to convert the png files to pdf files, then use pdftk ( http://www.pdfhacks.com/pdftk/ this site seems not to be working right now) to concatenate the results into a single file. The Preview program under OSX will be able to write out pdf file from png input as well.

second pdftk. convert (from the imagemagick suite) will work for png->pdf.

Zamzar requires individual selection of files, so I might as well use Preview. And then Automator appears able to concatenate .pdf files. (Unfortunately neither Automator nor Preview can .pdf print a group of separate files so far as I can tell.)

Thanks!

Edit: Automator does combine .pdf pages, but I can't find an option to SAVE the combined pages. It appears to combine the pages and NOT output a new file in any fashion. Any clue?
