AP repeats itself, misspells "Goth"

A CNN.com article that quotes extensively from the AP is ... well ... not up to par. It's about the kid accused of killing Vitale, wife of a famous lawyer, and how he's "Gothic" and "drew a pentagram on the ground at school," as well as being "Gothic" and "drawing a pentagram on the ground with chalk."

People, Gothic is a style of architecture. Goth is a style of life.

The misspellings were mainly in quotes, and "Goth" originated as a shortening of Gothic Rock/Pun. So... ok.

I'm kind of pissed, though, about the fact that every time a Goth kid kills someone, everybody thinks that Goth made them do it. Meh.

The article also describes the kid as being a Satanist, and as far as I know that's independent from bring a Goth. I'm personally more inclined to think that Satan made him do it.

Theoretically independent, but highly correlated.

I'm also pissed at that, though. Satanists aren't necessarily in favor of killing people either. And most importantly, they're HIGHLY opposed to trespassing. In proper Satanist morality (and in many states), the victim would have had every right to kill him.

...just for being there, mind you, not for attacking her in her home, which is extra-bad according to the Satanists and Most Courts of Law.
