Sample photos

As mentioned a while back, [livejournal.com profile] amavia was looking for some people with birds for stock photography, and Gabe and I volunteered. Tammy's a professional freelance photographer and graphic designer, specializing in pet photography, her webpage is rubicat.com, and I really can't say enough good about her. Our experience in person was very good: lasted an hour, Tammy made both Gabe and myself feel at home in her studio, and she was quite comfortable handling Gabe herself.

And of course, in the end her photos speak for themselves.

Stock photos have to be on a white background so the other people can most easily cut out the background. I just hope they don't cut Gabe out too.

Sometimes he's pretty...

Fuzzball!
But sometimes he slips up. In reality, he's absolutely ridiculous, and a slob too, he just tries to fake being beautiful. Not too succesfully: in the month since these photos were taken, he's grown out three flight feathers, broken two of them off at the shaft when he landed on them, and then broken both of those longest tail feathers halfway down. :-P

Aw, isn't that sweet?

His ulterior motive for sitting on me.

If you like the photos, compliments go to [livejournal.com profile] amavia, not me! And the best compliment is your business or sending other people her way. She's located in the Boston, MA area.

The new haircut is adorable!

Unfortunately, a scant month after "adorable" it's now "unmanageable," and the red faded to dull brunette while the roots grew out an inch and a half. I wonder if there are anti-hair-growing cremes. :-P I've got a cut lined up Weds.
