Dream

And not a particularly good one. The set was one that I've used before: Atlanta-with-conference-hotel combined with multi-building-apartment-complex-with-light-rail.

I was showing my parents around the city. I think we were driving, but it's not clear in my memory. When we got near the Hotel I'd been to conferences for, I pointed it out to them. I decided to pop in and take a look at it, mostly because of their 60-story glass Elevators. I told them it didn't matter if they called for up or down, because we wanted to go up eventually since the down simply went into the Mall and had no view.

Before we started going up, Mom noticed how the back wall was glass and got a bit nervous, as she's afraid of heights. I reassured her as we started to rise. The Elevator turned into the Light Rail, taking us through the hugemongus Hotel, and then out of it to the Other Buildings. Behind the Hotel was the Carnival, with the Ferris Wheel nearly up against the glass of the Elevator/Rail.

The Rail traveled around, snaking its way between Warehouses before coming up to one of the stops. There was some accident at that stop, so we all had to disembark. A security guard was doing some first aid on a trucker who was in the rail car in front of us, and a few of us asked if we should call 911. He had already done so, so Dad said we should just get out of there. I started to realize how bad an accident it was and told him I would as soon as I told the people next to us to sheild their children. I walked over to them and told them they shouldln't let their kids see the accident because it was pretty bad, and they wandered off.

I woke myself up, some five or ten minutes before my alarm.

It wasn't a scary dream, just quite disturbing. Since waking I've been trying to figure out how I'd convince kids to not look at a scene like that, because if they heard about it, they'd go "ooh, gore!" and whip their heads around to look. I've had this image of jumping up on a soapbox the opposite side of the scene, people gathering around me, and me telling parents to cover their kids' eyes before explaining why.
Pending a lawsuit from the ACLU, the government has agreed to stop backing the Christian-run abstinence-only program "Silver Ring Thing."

The reason law suits are so damned prolific is that people here are too stupid to figure these things out on their own. *Dur!*
