Once in a while the webcomic Sinfest does a really awesome storyline. (FYI it's more typical to have stoners, horndogs, and puppy dogs, though they're usually done in a somewhat self-mocking manner.) Here's one such storyline pasted in its entirety.

Man, I wish I knew more about what's going on. A fantasy finance league sounds like it'd be a lot more fun than fantasy sports.

I love that I now have an LHC tag.

DanJosef (in case you're following this now via RSS): This could be our last night on Earth! And Dan's too! Twice!
This xkcd isn't too far from my experience with Google Maps during my recent road trip. It saw into the future (I-840 in NC didn't yet exist, and "Future I-840" ended at Exit 19 where Google Maps told me to get off at Exit 21), and it didn't see into construction (I-95 didn't have an exit 351C in Florida). I guess this is why they recommend a sanity check at the bottom in fine print on all their directions.

Oh man, this comic says it so well. :)

They're not science, and yet they are! And Zombie Feynman!
Along the lines of the NPR Podcast on the MIT Mystery Hunt, here's a clip from an upcoming documentary on "Nerdcore" music - rap/electronic music aimed at geeks. The clip features MC Frontalot (a Nerdcore star) in the center, with Tycho and Gabe (from Penny Arcade) and they're deconstructing the lyrics of the MC Frontalot song about Penny Arcade and its readers. You can skip the first 40 seconds or so.

When you google for "electromagnetic spectrum" images for a presentation you're doing for an astro class, among the top 20 hits is this.

I'd totally forgotten about it.

RSS!

So T$ has recently found an RSS reader (for OS X) that makes using an RSS reader worthwhile, Net News Wire. As you may know, I read waaaay too many webcomics. Well, now I've got most of them in the RSS reader, and can view them right there. It's awesome. Except that some authors either are too stupid to have and RSS, or too stupid to publish it clearly, or I'm too stupid to find them. Anyone know where I can find the RSS feed for these webcomics? You'd think Blank Label Comics of all of them would have an RSS feed prominent, but no. I read four out of the six of them and only two of those have RSSs easily findable.

Zing!

Found on a friend's friendslist...

Though technically, in the second panel it should read "hypothesis" everywhere it says "theory"... :-P

The Game

They're just hearing about this NOW?! Nerdcampers were doing it three years ago. And it was already old then.

And I repeat my query: anyone know the XKCD episode that references The Game?
I didn't even have any urge to go at all, but some of the photos make me wish I did.

Click for superhuge version that you can actually read.

Anyone remember which comic had the "You lose the game" reference?
