Yesterday JT and I tried to bike down the West Side Bikeway, around the Battery, and up the East Side, but a few blocks of the trail was filled with news trucks, and the East Side was closed while helicopters took off and landed. I guess the Bushes were coming in via helicopter. Traffic was all messed up too, so we were thankful we were on bikes and not a car. We alternated mutterings and exclamations about how it was such a pain in the ass that he decided to come and disrupt our city, and why not on the actual day (b/c today he's visiting Pennsylvania and the Pentagon, it turns out), and besides the whole world hates us right now and it's his fault.

*sigh* Things suck. The world sucks. I didn't pick Gabe up last night b/c I got in just before midnight and I didn't want to wake my neighbors to get him. Ditto for getting him right now, so I'll wait till I get home this evening. Time to shower.
When I'm feeling down, I usually go outside at night and look up at the billions of stars and realize how tiny I am, and that whatever little thing that's happening to me actually means nothing in the grand scheme of it all.

But sometimes you have to look back down and see that the actions of a few people can change the whole world.
