asterrocThe good news is my back left burner is entirely clean of material atop it.
The bad news is that this morning when I went into the kitchen for breakfast I saw that I'd left the back left burner on all night with nothing on it.
I don't have a smoke detector. The old one was beeping incessantly despite a new battery, so I took the battery out and "haven't gotten around to" asking my landlord to install a new one.
