Dirty Birdie

As if Gabe's tail wasn't nasty enough from being dragged through his own poop, he now just dragged it through my guacamole. To make matters worse, avocado's poisonous to birds, so I had to dunk him in the sink and clean it off with my washcloth. And of course it just occured to me that he dragged his poop-covered tail through my FOOD. :(

Ah, the joys of pet ownership.

ewwww. =P been there too though. Ezri (parrotlet) was sitting on my bowl of couscous eating with me and just turned around and pooped right in the bowl, then turned back around and scooted down a little and continued eating. it was like she just wanted to poop in there.

what kind of bird is Gabe? is he the only one you have? i have Ezri and also a red factor canary named Rojo.

As you noted elsewhere, he's a lutino cockatiel.

He is unfortunately my only bird: a few days before my neighbor found him stray, my childhood companion Peeper passed away. There's more about both of them in the appropriate tags (Gabriel and Peeper), and in a eulogy I wrote for her. I've also got photos of both in my Flickr account.

Man, now I'm getting teary-eyed again. To cheer me up though, I think Gabe's starting to let me scratch his head.
