Yeah, to me, Tookie is not particularly sympathetic - he has apparently changed his arguments for why he should be released several times - I'm mentally challenged, wait, actually, I wrote books for children, wait, I never did it in the first place!
Basically the only reason I don't want him dead is because I don't want anyone dead. I can think of lower profile people who are probably far less deserving of the death penalty.
