I use taxactonline, and shell out the money to submit the state return electronically. (I think they also charge a small fee to submit the federal return electronically, but you don't have to pay anything to print out the return and mail it in yourself.) I think it was $16.95 total this year, and they charge a ridiculous fee on top of that if you have them take it out of your return, so I just used my credit card. I'm pretty happy with it, and they've made small improvements to the user interface and information over the past few years.

I've only used Turbo Taxes online program. I just find it easy. It's free to do the entire report and then costs to print/file it electronically. I just like using the online program to do it, then pay the $30 bucks and submit. Going to be doing that this week, I'll let you know how it goes this year!
