Eminem

I'm sure that people who don't know me well would expect me to listen to Sarah McLachlan exclusively, but just like I'm not vegan, I do like pop, but I need healthy doses of "alternative" - metal, occasional punk/ska, and Eminem. I don't like any other rappers, just him. And that's because besides having good rhythm and an actual tune, he's clever.

I just listened to the lyrics of "Till I Collapse" for the first time, and caught "Adrenaline shots of penicillin could not get the illing to stop / Amoxicilin's just not real enough." Hee, I like that. :)

Alot of people would probably be suprised to learn I feel the same way about older Eminem. Not only is he lyrically good, his offensive comedy is awesome. I dream of being able to offend that many people who can't take a joke.

*nods* I first started taking notice of him when I realized that a number of his lyrics were about the stupidity of the stereotypical gangster/thug/rapper/hip-hop lifestyle. Anything that encourages kids to go straight is right by me.

Yeah, I enjoy the occasional Eminem. I'd like to get the greatest hits album, which came out last year, I think.

I think my Sarah McLachlan days passed long ago. I migrated to the much cooler Tori Amos. Anymore, Sarah's got a little too much Jesus in her for my tastes.

While Eminem's got a healthy dose of "Fuck God"? :-P I thought you were some flavor of Christian though? I don't find Sarah's stuff too overbearing (except for "Hold On") - most of it is more story-telling than preaching. Kinda like I really enjoy the Indigo Girls' "The Wood Song" which is the story of Noah's Ark. As I was saying in another post, I like Christian stories.
