Today's Questionable Content is quite amusing. Now I want an animated gif icon made out of that last panel - three stills, one each with the appropriate character and speech bubble, in appropriate order. I don't know that the text would be readable though. And it's my bedtime. Anyone else feel like doing it? :-P

Date: 2006-05-17 11:55 am (UTC)well, there you go. i couldn't really get it so all of a character's head and speech bubble were in the same frame with the text readable...Raven's is more readable because her speech bubble is smaller. tell me if you want me to make one scanning across the panel, i'd be able to make the text more readable...but it would also be a bigger file and i'd have to be careful with LJ's size limits.
i set it 1 second for Marten and Dora, 2 seconds for Raven. i can speed it up or slow it down if you like. also, i've noticed that gifs move faster in Safari than in Firefox, at least for me...not sure why that is.

Date: 2006-05-17 06:32 pm (UTC)I'd say longer for all - maybe 5 seconds for each?, however long it takes for someone not familiar with the comic to read them. And can throw in a second of black to indicate when it cycles thru each time.
Scanning across the panel might make it more readable; that'd give it an entirely different effect. If you feel like giving it a shot, I won't stop you. :) As for more file space, give Flickr a try for hosting images.
Or what about doing more photoshop tricks to rearrange the words in the speech bubbles and enlarge them? :-P

Date: 2006-05-18 11:44 am (UTC)okay, so three more versions...a scanning one, this one slowed down, and a text-enlarged version...i have a limited amount of internet time here but i'll work on them tonight and have at least two, hopefully three done by tomorrow morning. :-)
