Calling all geeks! I am looking for bouncy science music. Things such as Oingo Boingo - Weird Science, TMBG - Why Does the Sun Shine, or a billion things by Jonathan Coulton (thanks [livejournal.com profile] the_xtina for leading me to him!). While Christine Lavin - Planet X fits the science theme, it doesn't fit bouncy, so it's iffy. The reason for this request is that every Halloween I throw a big bash, theme usually picked by August. Recently I've been stuck on the idea of having this year's theme be Science, but I don't know if I can pull it off music-wise.

So if you have favorite science songs, please list them. Thanks!

they do it with science

She Blinded Me With Science -- Thomas Dolby

Various MC Hawking

The Math Song -- Darkest of the Hillside Thickets (not sure if it's bouncy enough, though.)

The Monster Mash, perhaps? "I was working in the lab late one night..."

And now the Weird Al list: I Think I'm a Clone Now, Attack of the Radioactive Hamsters from a Planet Near Mars, It's All About The Pentiums, Jurassic Park, Slime Creatures from Outer Space, Yoda

Tom Lehrer has several songs that qualify; one of my favorites is "Lobachevsky".

Some years ago, I was exposed to a song that included the lyrics "Oh, photosynthesis/Phototropic nutrition!" by J. Random Punk Band (not its actual name, I'm sure). A Google search came up empty, but if you do a search on "photosynthesis lyrics" several songs do come up.

If you like rockabilly, Make a Circuit With Me by the Polecats is filled with 80's goodness.

Brainsbodyboth by George Hrab is on topic and has fun lyrics.

Also, Gary Numan's discography has some "sciency" gems. Personally, I looooooove Down in the Park. It might be darker than what you're looking for, however (it's about robots and cyborgs killing and raping humans).

Finally, every song ever made by Sigue Sigue Sputnik is either sci-fi, porn, or both. Very bouncy, energetic music. My personal favs are Love Missile F1-11 and 21st Century Boy.

Oh! and and and...
