Six years later. Drive was 6:30 long, much better than it used to be, now that I've had my license for on order of years, not months. Would've been 6:00 if it weren't for construction, including being routed OFF the interstate for some 10 miles. The land is still beautiful - long rolling hills, not like the cramped ones where I am now, all back-to-back and ontop of each other. The interstate curves along the edge of a valley, skirting the hills, so you can look down into the houses and farms, or up to the trees. Mobile homes are more common than I remember them being, but that's probably my memory (or newfound awareness). Never noticed mobile homes with bushes planted around them, or garages that looked more permanent. Or the trailer park named something pompous like "Castle Village." I found myself thinking with beatiful outsides like this, I probably could put up with a trailer. There's a new building on campus, not sure what for. The frat houses have disappeared - the ones on campus seem to have been absorbed into other buildings (such as a Welcome Center or a Hillel House), others have blended into apartments, and one has "condemned" tape around it.

And on the drive back from the grocery store 13 miles away, I opened up my sunroof and looked out at the stars: Jupiter, Leo, and a satellite.
