I keep having issues w/ my wireless internet disconnecting. My desktop hardwired is fine. Anyone know how I can determine whether it's the MacBook or my router without buying anything?
I've been mostly using it in one location in the house, but I never had problems with my iBook there. I'm using it somewhere else right now and having no problems, I'll move it back in a while and see if it's bad there. Good idea. I don't know of any free wireless cafes in the area, unfortunately. :(
A neibor could have moved or purchased something electronically noisy or reflective, that could create a spot of interference. You might be able to switch to a different channel to fix it.
There has got to be a free wifi somewhere nearby. Starbucks, Panera, other national chains often do. Or try googling "free wifi in $LOCATION"

Also try taking the notebook to a coffee shop with free wireless. If it works there, it is either your router or something in your home.
