I don't know which bothers me more: religious people saying that so-and-so will never get to Heaven because they aren't of their religion, or smug assurance that the soul of so-and-so will or did see the light and turn from their religion to the proper one and thus *will* be in Heaven. Along with the latter is the Mormon practice of baptism for the dead. In this practice, the living vicariously baptize the dead, regardless of the religion and wishes of the dead person while living, and then supposedly God then gives the dead soul the opportunity to accept the Gospel of Christ. *Grr*

I tried out TrustFlow II for LiveJournal. The following people not on the friends list for
zandperl are close by:
If you haven't read the notes on TrustFlow, the way it works is it "pours" units of "trust" into your bucket. When your bucket's full, it overflows into everyone on your userlist. When they're full, they overflow into their userlist. When one of those people (third tier) gets filled, their name pops up with the number of units poured into your "bucket". Repeat for some amount of iterations. Dead-ends stop filling. People with fewer people on their list send all their overflow to less people - you don't get more "trust" if you have more people. The fact that my returned people come up sooner (100-150) than those for xoder (250-300) or freakylynx (450-500) I think indicates that my network has less people at each level than either of theirs. How soon an individual shows is a measure of both how close they are to your network step-wise, and how many people in your network they know.
