I"ve been working on erasing Peeper from my house. Not consciously, it just works out that way. I did consciously clean her cage Friday, the day I discovered her. And then her food/water dishes yesterday. I want to put them all up on Freecycle - I have no reason to keep them, and I want someone else to have a happy bird because of them. Then today I started in on some long overdue cleaning. Took more than a half hour to sweep and mop the dining room, so I'm not getting the rest of the house just yet. Too hot.

I'm already thinking about birds. The house is lonely. And T$ said he'd probably be willing to feed a bird when we someday live together if I'm not home. :-P
I would like something a bit more playful than a cockatiel (cameo alert!), which Peeper was, although she was really sweet. I'm under the impression that quakers (no, not you
sammka) might be exactly the type of bird I want, but due to being a highly successful invasive species they're regulated or illegal in some states (including PA since 1973, where I have in the past and may in the future spend occasional summers). So maybe a conure, since they're more legal and mobile, but I get the impression they're louder and less loving. Plus it turns out there's many species of conure...
Anyone know more about mid-sized birds?
