it's suddenly pouring rain. and Gabe's mrrp-ing like a muted bicycle horn.

towed

yesterday, driving up to the dealer where I eventually got my new car (to be picked up this afternoon), I saw a big tan thing on a flatbed tow truck. I followed it for a while and realized it had a big long nozzle sticking out with a black shower cap on it, and the sides had plated armor. then I realized it was a sand-colored TANK. it was really bizarre to see a tank being carried on the highway, and the little cover over the turret thingit wasn't enormously reassuring.

India

Mom's in Ahmedabad. It appears to be one province over from Mumbai (the city formerly known as Bombay). Thankfully, though I wish it were further.

I've decided!

I'm gonna get vanity plates that say "STARRY" and it costs $50 to order plus a swap fee of $20 (I think). Not bad for a bit of fun and uniqueness. :) Unfortunately, they're closed for the day, so I'll have to wait for tomorrow.

Gabe's habits

• Occasionally he honks like a muted bicycle horn.


• He replies to the microwave and oven timer.


• When he wants to go to bed, he does laps in his cage - upside down.


• He's figured out how to unhook my necklace now.


• When visiting his godparents, he unscrews his toys. (I haven't yet caught him at this.)

He seems playful, but slightly shy/nervous so far. He's opening up a bit, but regressed slightly due to visiting his godparents this past week. I'm sure it'll happen again when we go to Astrocamp. I'm taking it slow on the seed/pellet conversion b/c of the various stressors.
