A town in PA is considering an ordinance that would make all heads of household own guns and ammo. I thought there was a positive correlation between gun ownership and childhood deaths, so I find this to be a surprising thing someone would want to promote *that* strongly.

Speaking of child deaths, the prosecutor is seeking the death penalty for the woman who nuked her baby.

in all fairness, Switzerland has cultural and legal pressures that prettymuch put a gun in every household, and they seem to do alright.

of course, they also have compulsory militia participation (and so, presumably, weapons safety training), which seems like an important difference.

and didn't Doonesbury's Uncle Duke propose something like this when running for president?
