Oh, keas are terrifyingly smart. This is one animal that I could see taking over the planet were it to get out of Aotearoa, if only because it thrives under conditions that would kill just about any other parrot. (Considering that they're also known to flock together to kill large animals, both fossil evidence on moas and videotapes on sheep, they're also one of the only two known species of bird that form small flocks solely to take out bigger game. The other is the Harris hawk, and they've already done a very good job at outcompeting the red-tailed hawk throughout most of the American Southwest.)
