Anyone know where I can find a MS Office 2007 Compatibility Pack for MS Office 2004 for Mac? I found one once, installed it, and turns out it's a trial version and it uninstalled itself a couple months later and I cannot find another one, leaving me unable to read .docx files, which are the default on my campus. And I'm taking an online course this summer and people keep stupidly posting more .docx files.

Date: 2008-06-07 11:29 pm (UTC)However, just because it's possible doesn't mean it's right for you. African Grays (along with the many cockatoo species) are known for being the very most needy of parrots. Would you prepared to have a two-year-old child in the house for the next 30-50 years? (Yes, you may have to write a provision in your will for it.) That's what grays are like. Hm, except with the vocabulary of a six-year-old. So a precocious fearful destructive two-year-old with ADHD and trichotillomania (feather plucking in this case) that manifests any time you do not provide sufficient entertainment. Oh, and it's not potty-trained and can't wear a diaper.
If you really are seriously thinking of getting this bird, I want you to do some research and answer me the following first, some of the most common problem areas I see in bird ownership.
1) Where's it coming from? What's its history?
2) What are you going to feed it?
3) How big a cage will you give it?
4) How many hours a day will it get out of the cage?
5) What will you do if it yells too much?
6) What will you do if it bites too much?
7) What vet will you use for checkups? What vet will you use if it's 3am and he's bleeding? And do you have at least $1,000 ready cash for that emergency 3am vet appointment?
Another approach to this question is to start from the bottom up, rather than from an individual bird down. Do you want a bird? If so, why? What would your ideal bird be like? What limitations do you have? What species best fit that? If you end up with still coming to the conclusion of liking this particular individual, then maybe it IS right for you. Feel free to shoot me messages thru LJ, or to email me at zandperl-AT-gmail-DOT-com w/ any questions or thoughts.

I'd love to abuse your knowledge and engage you on your questions, but allow me to do due diligence on my end first. At first,
