I know you can add your google calendar to iCal easily. Under calendar details you can use the ical private link. If your iCal is published somewhere (like on a .mac account) you can add it to google. Either way I don't think you'll be able to edit from both places unless you use two calendars (One from iCal AND one from google calendar). I use Google as my main calendar and share it everywhere just for viewing purposes.
