PETA's always been kinda weird, but their latest campaign takes the cake. It's an attempt to cash in on the well-known fact that people prefer to help "cute" animals - like pandas - and not "uncute" animals - like sugar gliders. So, since no one wants to help fish, you get to make your fish cute! Like mine:

I think sugar gliders are cute. Based on what people pay for them it seems to be a reasonably common opinion.

Snuggles is cute.
I saw something about how people are attracted to animals that resemble young children in appearance or behavior. It makes a lot of sense, things that display innocence or are curious are very endearing.
