I have returned to LJ-land after a fun weekend of puzzle-solving. Please let me know if I missed anything you posted and want me to know, since I doubt I'm going through everyone's posts.

You might get a chuckle out of this

I actually did see that one - I checked LJ once and read exactly one screen of entries, and that was one of them. Yep, it's amusing. I'd like to see a follow-up of interviewing a small child who *has* watched it.

MIT Mystery Hunt, team: Grand Unified Theory of Love. This year I really am planning to post a summary of my experience...

The only thing you missed in my life I didn't post about to LJ yet: having an amazing time with the Mystery Hunt. (Just for the Halibut really impressively upgraded their ability to correspond with remotes, making this a much better time than last year... sometimes I almost forgot that we were "supposed" to be local.)

That's great to hear, IIRC that was actually one of the issues that JftH and GUT♥ disagreed upon that helped lead to the split. As for us, we actually lost most of our remotes this year! Hopefully they'll be back next year though.

I think, by and large, the biggest change has been the advent of GoogleDocs, specifically Google Spreadsheets. With this technology, we can collaborate in defined, organized spaces. We just didn't have that ability before.

Also, especially for the first 14 hours and then Saturday afternoon and evening, and here-and-there throughout the other parts of the hunt, we had people dedicated to Comms. I wish things would've been integrated slightly more and I wish we had another printer or two, but it was frankly pretty good. Next year, as long as we continue to stay on the ball, our experience will only make us better (and hopefully we can pad our ranks just a bit and get lucky enough to have a few more remotes able to make it locally). Anyway, I still have not caught up on sleep, so I'm going to try to swing another full eight hours tonight. Goodnight!
