Google Voice Number Choice

I have an invite for a Google Voice number, which would allow me to link my personal (cell) and work numbers together, and I can select which phone rings when specific people call me, or have neither ring at all. I would give this number out to people who know me personally, professionally, or even through teh intartubes only. I've got a few ideas and I'm wondering what others think of them, or if you have other suggestions for me that aren't already taken.

That's definitely what I'm leaning towards, but half the point of getting a central number is so it's easier to tell people, and for most people I'd then have to spend lots of time explaining it. I guess I could also memorize the number version of it and just give them that w/o explanation.

You'd probably need to do that anyway; I suspect that a lot (if not most) people find it awkward to handle letter-based phone numbers. If you just always give people the number, then you can tell astronomers/enthusiasts about the semantics after that.
