2013 Films
Nov. 3rd, 2013 01:46 pmBelow is a list of the films I've seen in the theater during 2013, put into categories of how much I liked them.
Good - really glad I saw these in the theater, and definitely watching again as soon as they come out on Netflix.
OK - I could've waited until they came out on Netflix; I'll probably watch them again someday but no real urge to do so any time soon.
Tolerable - I probably should've waited until they came out on Netflix; no plan to watch again.
Bad - definitely should've saved my money; actively wish to not watch again ever.
It's hard to decide where to put films I had fun with as opposed to finding intellectually stimulating. The main merits of STID and Ender's Game were fanservice - that is, references to things that I knew about as a fan. The main merits of The World's End and Pacific Rim were the humor. The main drawbacks of Despicable Me 2 and Riddick were the gender tropes.
Next weekend I'll be seeing Thor 2 (ETA: see above), and I expect it to fall under Excellent.
