Note: I didn't see last night's because it was snowing, but I've seen two or three others over the years from my driveway at my current residence, so I based my answers on that.

Also, I remember the orange as being a very dark orange. But still orange, not red or brown.

Kind of a brownish color. Faintly reddish brown, but "brown" is really the best term for the color I saw.
