Birds

I'm already thinking about birds. The house is lonely. And T$ said he'd probably be willing to feed a bird when we someday live together if I'm not home. :-P

I would like something a bit more playful than a cockatiel (cameo alert!), which Peeper was, although she was really sweet. I'm under the impression that quakers (no, not you [livejournal.com profile] sammka) might be exactly the type of bird I want, but due to being a highly successful invasive species they're regulated or illegal in some states (including PA since 1973, where I have in the past and may in the future spend occasional summers). So maybe a conure, since they're more legal and mobile, but I get the impression they're louder and less loving. Plus it turns out there's many species of conure...

Anyone know more about mid-sized birds?

Yeap, only child. As for "working through the grief," I suspect I may have already done so. It surprises me that it'd be so quick, but since I managed to write that eulogy, I've felt remarkably better. Any time I start slumping or thinking unpleasant thoughts of the end, I'm able to recall good things reminding me how much we loved each other. I did however, spend all of last Monday (when I got the kidney failure diagnosis) crying, and again all of Friday after she did pass away, so maybe that was enough to "work it out of my system." *shrug* If I seem to be over the bad parts and able to recollect the good parts quickly, I am not going to make myself feel guilty over it.
