How's that work? I've got LJ set up to email me every time someone comments on my normal blog or replies to one of my comments, will it do that for the syndication too? If it won't, then you can always comment on the original blog as those *are* sent to me.
It is, but I may not catch any comments when browsing my flist. Couldja post a comment on a syndicated entry for me to test it? It doesn't notify me of my own posts. Thanx!
If you have the "track this" option (paid members and permanent do I know, the rest should have it shortly or already do), you can track the entries as LJ picks them up (i.e. when you see them on your friends page).
What logical way? How can you prove to LJ that you, zandperl have anything to do with the syndicated blog? It would be interesting to have "ownership" of a given syndicated feed, but it could be troublesome (i.e., you create the LJ account of a popular webcomic. You don't own the comic, and you probably don't want emails every time someone replies to an entry (that's only kept for 2 weeks anyways).
But wait, I thought I *did* have ownership of the syndication page. That is, I created it, I picked the name, can't I delete it if I want?, doesn't it go away if I go unpaid?
I would think the "logical" way of doing it is that when I create a syndication or on its "userinfo" page, there's a checkbox that only I can see that says "notify of new comments on this feed."
You do not own the syndication account in any way. You did create it, you picked the name, but you cannot delete it if you want (like a child). It will not go away if unpaid (unlike a child). In short, you and it are split!
