W00t! I just syndicated my other blog as [livejournal.com profile] modern_science. If you want to read that one here, add it to your friends also. ^_^

Right, that makes sense as a workaround, thanks. I'm surprised LJ doesn't do it the logical way though.

What logical way? How can you prove to LJ that you, [livejournal.com profile] zandperl have anything to do with the syndicated blog? It would be interesting to have "ownership" of a given syndicated feed, but it could be troublesome (i.e., you create the LJ account of a popular webcomic. You don't own the comic, and you probably don't want emails every time someone replies to an entry (that's only kept for 2 weeks anyways).

Tricky problem, I guess.

But wait, I thought I *did* have ownership of the syndication page. That is, I created it, I picked the name, can't I delete it if I want?, doesn't it go away if I go unpaid?

I would think the "logical" way of doing it is that when I create a syndication or on its "userinfo" page, there's a checkbox that only I can see that says "notify of new comments on this feed."

You do not own the syndication account in any way. You did create it, you picked the name, but you cannot delete it if you want (like a child). It will not go away if unpaid (unlike a child). In short, you and it are split!
