"That's so gay"

And while I'm on the topic of LGBT-friendliness, linkeroo. A teen uses the phrase "That's so gay" at school, is disciplined by the school (and teased by peers, though it's unclear whehter they were calling her gay, calling her homophobic, or teasing that she was being disciplined), and then the teen sues the school. Thankfully, she lost the suit. Ridonkulous.

I think the peers were calling her Mormon, not gay, and the teasing seems to have preceded her comment (it might have kept up afterward too though). I mean, she actually was Mormon, but the peers seem to have been giving her a hard time about it.

I can see how it would seem really unfair to be criticized for homophobia when your comment was in response to people who were giving you a hard time for your religion, and they weren't punished. But I agree with the court in saying that it doesn't seem like teachers were deliberately allowing her to be teased.
