LaTeX tabular?

If my TeXShop says "Environment tabular undefined" after I try to create a table via \begin{tabular}, what do I do?

Man, it's been a while. It might've just been easier to type all the formulae in Word...

In the header:

And the tabular:

I hope you didn't typo 'tabular' as 'tablular' in the real document. Because... that would probably generate a message like that, and you'd be kicking yourself right now. And otherwise that looks right to me.

er, what is [hb]? I would think tabular would immediately need its formatting information, so [hb] should go after {|l|c|l|}, I think.

I haven't dealt too much with latex (allergies), but I'm just trying to help from a language-and-markup perspective.

Turns out I misspelled "tabLular". I had the formatting right though, I looked up that [hb] goes before the {|l|c|l|} - [hb] tells you where to place it - first choice is Here, Bottom is second choice.

worth seeing if lout [lout.sourceforge.net] works better for you than latex does. (i've made the switch myself - for what i do, it's easier and cleaner than latex)
