Dad was supposed to actually come home this afternoon! :) I've been out and haven't been able to confirm it, but will do so in the morning. Tuesday's MRI showed that it was only muscle tears, and those heal on their own. He was supposed to be sent home with a walker and will get physical therapy. Interestingly, it only costs $40 to be sent home in an ambulance, while a cab in NYC would cost nearly that much. And what with the transit strike he'd have to share it w/ four people. Do walkers count as a person?

I'm glad it's not as bad as it could ahve been. Muscle tears are still pretty bad though, even little ones.
40 isnt a bad copay on an ambulance ride.
I would guess that for cab sharing purposes, walkers count as people if they cant be stowed in the trunk. From what my dad told me about being on crutches when he lived in the city, I feel bad for your dad needing a walker there though.

It only costs him $40, but it actually costs about $1000 to the insurance company... and you have to need it... which is why health care costs are so ridiculous.
