I realized today that I had an oodle of voice mail messages I hadn't checked in a while, so I went and checked them today. The exciting one is that the DNA sexing came in on my futurebird - she's a girl! Man, I keep getting girls, it's awesome. And I can't believe I was right, it was totally a bizarre wild guess. Eeeeee!

Kind of reminds me when I first got Frankie. It was a bit after I'd just lost two very very special birds to me. A female budgie (Piper) who was the tamest bird I'd ever had and the one who sparked my bird love. And then a male cockatiel who taught me that even cockatiels can scream you out of your mind. I loved them both so much and because of the individual things they brought to my life. After that, I really pined for another bird like Piper, who would be full attitude but I also missed my cockatiel's really cuddly nature.

Frankie wasn't exactly planned, but after seeing him twice and finding those very traits in him (plus a lot of his own little individual quirks) I had to have him. There was no way to replace the two I'd lost but Frankie filled his own little niche and brought a couple of their characteristics back into my life.

I have to say, I'm a conure addict for life. (Though budgies will probably always be closest to my heart.)

But yeah, he's still a little terror. Cuddly but VERY domineering and very nippy. Made me think he was a female at first. But Inga is so laid back yet so full of spunk and incredibly fearless. I don't know if it's a conure thing (one sex being a brat, the other being more mellow) but that's been the case with my two at least. :D
