It's a Girl!
Apr. 4th, 2008 08:41 pmI realized today that I had an oodle of voice mail messages I hadn't checked in a while, so I went and checked them today. The exciting one is that the DNA sexing came in on my futurebird - she's a girl! Man, I keep getting girls, it's awesome. And I can't believe I was right, it was totally a bizarre wild guess. Eeeeee!

Date: 2008-04-05 01:02 am (UTC)Maybe it's that the last two times I had a bird I was convinced it was male for at least a few months, so I had a track record of being wrong. Maybe it's that this's my third bird that's female (chances of that being 1/8).

Date: 2008-04-05 01:24 am (UTC)I am COMPLETELY DRUNK (see icon), however, so take this with a grain of salt. (My grammar and typing are the last things to go, so I am WAY drunker than I "sound.")

Date: 2008-04-05 01:30 am (UTC)I, on the other hand, am COMPLETELY SOBER so I was able to deduce that from your icon and a recent post of yours. ;)

Congratulations! =)

Date: 2008-04-05 01:25 pm (UTC)Frankie wasn't exactly planned, but after seeing him twice and finding those very traits in him (plus a lot of his own little individual quirks) I had to have him. There was no way to replace the two I'd lost but Frankie filled his own little niche and brought a couple of their characteristics back into my life.
I have to say, I'm a conure addict for life. (Though budgies will probably always be closest to my heart.)
But yeah, he's still a little terror. Cuddly but VERY domineering and very nippy. Made me think he was a female at first. But Inga is so laid back yet so full of spunk and incredibly fearless. I don't know if it's a conure thing (one sex being a brat, the other being more mellow) but that's been the case with my two at least. :D
