Open Source Adobe Acrobat Pro?

I'm looking for a free and/or open source program that will let me edit .pdf files and save them partially filled in and continue them later. Any suggestions?

Edit: I use a Mac.

I've never done it, but the Foxit feature list says that you can save filled in forms for later, but you may have to install a (free) add-on.

Foxit Reader itself is free. The critical add-ons are free while advanced add-ons have a reasonable cost. For example, you can use the following functions for free:

* View or print PDF document
* Add or edit bookmarks in a PDF file if the security settings allow
* Basic PDF form operations i.e. filling out PDF forms and printing them out
* Advanced PDF form operations, such as saving filled-out forms and import/export forms, free for personal and non-personal usage
* View PDF as text
* Critical add-ons, such as UI language package, JPEG2000/JBIG decoder, CJK package, GDI+ for early Windows version, etc

That sounds like what I'm looking for. Have you used the program, and do you like it?

Yeah, I like Foxit. I use it at work because it's fast and eats less memory than Acrobat Reader.

One thing you can do is save as postscript (which will retain form data), and then use Preview to convert to PDF, but that's a pain.
