Today I wore my pedometer just for fun. 1.3 miles is what I remember it saying at the end of the day before I accidentally hit the reset button. I didn't catch how many steps that was, but I entered my stride as 23", so it is left as an exercise for the reader to calculate (a) how many steps I took today, (b) how far it would be if I'd been able to add the extra digit, 23.4", and (c) how far that is in SI units.
Anyways, that's further than I walked yesterday for exercise, but it's all low impact low velocity walking, whether it's a lab day or not.

A)Since we only have 2 sig figs you took 3600 steps, B) increasing to 3 sig figs you walked 84200" or 1.33mi
C) 1.33mi is 2.14km
