Long live Mr. Roomba!

His brushes have continued to not turn, other than for some 5 minutes after a thorough cleaning. So I called Roomba support this evening, and brushes not turning is covered under warranty - by a replacement of the unit. The new one will arrive within 3-10 business days, and we are to ship back the old one at our own expense ($6-8 via FedEx or UPS, so not too bad).

This makes me so sad, we're losing Mr. Roomba! I have to keep reminding myself that losing an old Mr. Roomba means gaining a new one... So sad! :'(

Maybe it's the fact that Mr. Roomba interacts tactilely with its environment, including bumping up against my feet sometimes, that makes me anthropomorphise him so. All I know is I'll miss him, even more than when I've had computers replaced under warranty. Computers are tools, Mr. Roomba is my second pet. My car is somewhere in between.
